Terms of Service
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using planning4college.com and its tools (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is (and isn’t)
Planning4College is an informational tool that suggests colleges that may fit a student based on the preferences you provide (budget, academics, location, intended field of study, athletics, campus size, and campus-life preferences). The Service:
- Is provided for general informational purposes only.
- Is not professional college-admissions counseling, financial advice, legal advice, or tax advice.
- Does not guarantee admission to, enrollment in, financial aid from, or any particular outcome at any school.
Match results are estimates generated from third-party data and your inputs. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before making decisions.
3. Eligibility and minors
The Service is intended for parents, guardians, and students. If you are under the age of 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service, and a parent or guardian should provide or supervise any information you submit. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Data sources and no affiliation
College information is drawn from public sources including the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and the Equity in Athletics Data Analysis (EADA) survey, and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Planning4College is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, athletic association, or government agency. All institution names and marks belong to their respective owners.
5. No professional advice
Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, admissions, legal, or tax advice. College costs, admissions standards, financial aid, and program offerings change frequently and vary by individual circumstances. Consult the colleges directly and qualified professionals before making decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or disrupt the Service; attempt to access data or systems without authorization; scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its content except as permitted; submit false information on behalf of another person without authorization; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and the compilation and presentation of data (but excluding the underlying public datasets), is owned by Planning4College LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company, and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial college search. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission.
8. Email and communications
If you provide your email address, you agree we may send you your saved matches and related communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. See the Privacy Policy for details.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that match results or underlying data are accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLANNING4COLLEGE LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS RESULTS.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Planning4College LLC from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, and update these Terms, at any time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
